SS Richard Montgomery by MMT

Whats seen:
The full wreck structure. Laser scanning data collected the masts above the water.

About the data survey:
The SS Richard Montgomery is a WW2 liberty ship with 1,400 tonnes of explosives still on board. The survey was performed for the Receiver of Wrecks, part of the Maritime & Coastguard Agency in the UK. The survey is performed annually to check the wreck condition. Visibility in the water is zero which is why multibeam sonar is used and not a diver visual survey. More information on the wreck can be found here http://www.dft.gov.uk/mca/mcga07-home/emergencyresponse/mcga-receiverofwreck/mcga-ssrichardmontgomer...

Where:
At the mouth of the River Medway where it meets the River Thames in England.
